Goods-To-Person Picking:

Goods-To-Person is the process of fulfilling orders (picking) in a warehouse, where product is brought to the operator by means of automation. It is the opposite process of Person-To-Goods picking, the manual and most simple form of order fulfillment (picking) in warehouses. Based on an ergonomic design product and automatic presentation and retrieval of shipping totes or cartons, these pick stations enable picking rates as high as 1,000 units/h.

GTP can boost productivity up to 10X and there is considered the fastest order fulfillment solution in the market. GTP can be attached to most small parts handling ASRS systems, such as shuttle systems, Miniload systems, cubic storage systems or 3D robotic shuttle systems.

There are many variations of GTP pick stations designs, ranging from small to large. The design principle is providing an ergonomic pick from a source tote/carton to a destination tote/carton. Order fulfillment is guided by software with visual picking instructions on a screen located in front of the operator. Light guided picking for higher accuracy and 100% pick verification systems can be applied to GTP pick stations.
